Glasses
Glasses are still the most popular form of vision correction.
Some types of ametropia (defocus of the eye) are best corrected
by spectacle eyewear.
Different tasks and focus requirements, such as computer
vision, benefit from special glasses made to assist the vision
system, and prevent headaches, eyestrain or tired eyes. Specialty
task glasses are usually worn part-time. Examples of task glasses
include music glasses, driving glasses and computer/reading glasses.
People with blurry vision at close distances (presbyopia)
require reading glasses or bifocals. Other types of ametropia
need full-time correction such as myopia,
hyperopia, and astigmatism.
